Our goal at Chapeltown Community Nursery is to create a safe environment for our children to thrive. Families have trusted us since we were established in 1973 and whilst our organisation is led by parents our day to day activities are led by our children. We have a child-led inspired ethos and are committed to serving our locality in Leeds 7 with resources tailored to our communities.

We firmly believe that all children in our care have an equal right to take part in all we have to offer and to aspire to reach their full potential. Chapeltown Community Nursery is a not for profit nursery, owned by the community and led by a voluntary management committee.
Established in 1973 as a playgroup, we evolved into a nursery to meet the needs of local families and began working from our purpose built venue on Reginald Street in 1992.
As well as running a nursery we aim to open up our building for community use when we don’t need it and to invest nursery income and additional fundraising into resources for the community.
